Workato is hiring a Senior Software Engineer for the Go language and artificial intelligence domain in Berlin, Frankfurt, and Munich, Germany. This full-time position is suited for an experienced backend engineer who wants to build scalable infrastructure for enterprise artificial intelligence platforms.

Role Overview

Workato seeks a senior developer to join the Workato Genie team and build mission-critical features and services. The professional in this position will focus on backend infrastructure, artificial intelligence chatbot dispatching, and execution management.

Key Responsibilities

Build high-performance gateways and routing components
Develop server-side infrastructure for logging and monitoring
Collaborate with infrastructure and SRE teams to meet high availability and scalability standards
Work with the artificial intelligence team to design features for a new assistant
Contribute across all phases of the software development lifecycle
Write efficient, testable, and well-designed code
Evaluate current systems and propose architectural improvements

Requirements

BS or MS degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
Minimum of 8 years of total industry experience
At least 4 years of backend experience using the Go language
Strong understanding of large web application components such as databases, load balancers, and message brokers
Experience building and scaling distributed, highly available systems
Basic knowledge of Kubernetes concepts and configuration
Proficiency in spoken English and ability to work with distributed global teams

Nice to Have

Experience with Ruby on Rails
Contributions to open-source projects
Familiarity with Docker and isolation technologies
Experience with Redis-based caching
Background in public cloud providers including AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud
Experience handling third-party REST APIs at scale
