Role Overview

Omada Health seeks an experienced Senior Software Engineer to join its newly formed agentic systems team. Situated within the Architecture & Infrastructure department, the position focuses on driving AI Transformation efforts across the organization. The engineer will define and deliver patterns, tools, and infrastructure that allow internal teams to plan, build, test, and operate software securely using AI. The role emphasizes multiplying the impact of others through thoughtful workflows and human-centered tooling.

Key Responsibilities

Integrate AI-powered tools into daily engineering workflows, such as Claude, VS Code, GitLab, Datadog, Slack chatops, and internal documentation.
Implement and evolve inference and tool-calling pathways using Claude models on Amazon Bedrock, LiteLLM, and MCP tool gateways within secure networks.
Partner with engineering teams to define AI-augmented SDLC patterns spanning planning, coding, testing, and operations.
Prototype and harden Slack-based chatops experiences to orchestrate internal services safely through business-level agentic harnesses.
Instrument and monitor AI usage, performance, and cost to provide insights on impact and organizational maturity.
Collaborate with security, compliance, and infrastructure teams to ensure AI workflows handle Protected Health Information (PHI) and sensitive data safely.
Create reusable examples, templates, and internal libraries to streamline team adoption of AI-powered workflows.
Contribute to training, documentation, and office hours to support engineers, product managers, and designers.

Requirements

8+ years of experience as a Software Engineer working on infrastructure, developer tools, or similar enabling internal systems.
Strong experience building backend services and integrations, including REST/GraphQL APIs, event-driven systems, or internal service meshes.
Hands-on experience with at least one modern LLM platform or orchestration layer like AWS Bedrock, OpenAI, Anthropic, LiteLLM, or LangChain.
Proficiency in at least one modern programming language used for backend and tooling, such as Ruby, Python, TypeScript/Node, or Go.
Experience integrating internal services or third-party APIs into bots, CLIs, chatops workflows, or internal tools.
Familiarity with AWS cloud infrastructure and secure-by-default patterns for managing secrets, credentials, and sensitive data.
Ability to collaborate cross-functionally, translate real-world workflows into technical requirements, and communicate tradeoffs clearly.
Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Nice to Have

Experience building Slack apps, chatops tooling, or conversational interfaces for internal teams.
Experience designing or operating MCP tool gateways, function-calling agents, or other agentic orchestration frameworks.
Familiarity with observability tools and practices to track AI usage, reliability, and cost over time.
