About this role

Sitecore is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join its product engineering team in Kuala Lumpur on a full-time basis. This senior individual contributor role suits an experienced developer with a strong background in building backend services for cloud platforms.

Role Overview

The incoming professional will design, build, and maintain production-grade backend services that power Sitecore's cloud platforms. Operating within a distributed, international environment, the engineer will collaborate closely with product managers, architects, QA teams, and fellow developers to deliver scalable digital experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Design, develop, ship, and maintain backend services for cloud platforms.
Build facade and common APIs that encapsulate business logic and hide platform complexity.
Develop cloud-native services running in Microsoft Azure, utilizing Azure Cosmos DB.
Define and evolve REST and GraphQL-based APIs to ensure security, performance, and observability.
Troubleshoot and resolve complex, high-impact production issues following strict engineering standards.
Contribute to and improve CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
Write testable, maintainable code with strong test coverage, leveraging AI-assisted development tools like GitHub Copilot.
Mentor other software developers through code reviews and technical discussions.

Requirements

At least 6 years of professional software development experience.
Strong backend development expertise using C# and .NET.
Proven experience in designing and consuming HTTP APIs including REST and GraphQL.
Solid understanding of object-oriented design, asynchronous programming, performance, scalability, and reliability.
Practical, hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and distributed NoSQL data stores like Azure Cosmos DB.
Working knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and familiarity with Kubernetes.
Experience designing CI/CD pipelines and using Git with modern branching strategies.
Familiarity with relational databases such as SQL Server and a history of writing unit and integration tests.
Strong written and spoken communication skills in English.

Nice to Have

Previous background working on SaaS or enterprise platforms.
Familiarity with Sitecore products such as XM Cloud, XP, or SXA.
Experience with event-driven or distributed architectures and infrastructure-oriented tooling.
Interest in developer productivity, automation, and applied AI in software development.
