Role Overview

As a Senior Software Architect for Keeper's Browser Extension team, the chosen candidate will lead the technical architecture and long-term direction of browser-based experiences across Chrome, Edge, Firefox, Safari, and other platforms. This position combines high-level architectural planning with hands-on coding. The architect collaborates with Engineering, Product, Security, QA, and UX teams to build scalable solutions that align with Keeper's zero-knowledge and zero-trust security models.

Key Responsibilities

Shape the technical architecture, design patterns, and roadmap for browser extension frameworks and cross-platform capabilities.
Design secure communication methods between extension components, web apps, backend systems, and native integrations.
Address performance, memory, reliability, and scalability challenges across multiple browser environments.
Partner with security teams on threat modeling, secure design, and remediation for browser functionality.
Lead architecture and design reviews while mentoring senior engineers to raise technical standards.
Utilize AI-assisted development tools like Claude, ChatGPT, and GitHub Copilot for architecture research, prototyping, and debugging.

Requirements

Ten or more years of professional software engineering experience with full-stack expertise spanning databases, backend services, APIs, and infrastructure.
Demonstrated zero-to-one architecture experience designing and delivering complex software systems from concept to production.
Strong knowledge of software architecture, object-oriented design patterns, distributed systems, microservices, and event-driven application design.
Experience with cloud-native technologies including AWS, Lambda, Docker, and Kubernetes.
Strong background in database architecture, web security concepts, CORS, OWASP guidance, and secure development practices.
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

Deep experience with modern browser applications, browser extensions, or client-side platform architecture.
Background in enterprise security platforms including IAM, CIEM, privileged access management, or endpoint security.
Familiarity with high-scale SaaS or zero-trust application architectures, compliance frameworks like ISO 27001, SOC 2, and GDPR.
Exposure to machine learning, AI-enabled products, computer vision, or product analytics platforms.
