About this role

Role Overview

DDN is hiring a Senior Sales Engineer for Strategic AI to be based at the Paris Office. This full-time role involves designing high-performance storage solutions that empower clients across finance, pharmaceuticals, education, and physical AI to achieve their goals.

Key Responsibilities

Partner with clients to understand critical data challenges such as high-frequency trading, genomics processing, AI model training, and autonomous vehicle sensor fusion.
Translate technical needs into scalable storage solutions and act as a trusted technical advisor throughout the sales cycle.
Architect storage systems for AI and machine learning training, high-performance computing simulations, data analytics, and GPU-accelerated workloads.
Design for high reliability, security, scale, and resilience while balancing performance and data protection.
Generate bills of materials, system architectures, and technical proposals for complex requests for proposals.
Conduct live software demonstrations, proofs of concept, and performance benchmarking.
Integrate solutions with GPU clusters, Kubernetes, cloud platforms, and AI frameworks.
Stay informed on artificial intelligence infrastructure and storage technology trends.
Collaborate with product and engineering teams by sharing valuable field insights.
Mentor colleagues and contribute to technical thought leadership while shaping product direction.

Requirements

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
Zero to three years of experience for entry-level candidates, or three to eight-plus years of experience in pre-sales, solutions architecture, or technical consulting.
Strong understanding of data and storage architectures including SAN, NAS, object storage, and parallel file systems.
Knowledge of architectural patterns for scale, security, resilience, and reliability.
Familiarity with storage and data protocols such as S3, POSIX, NFS, and SMB.
Understanding of network protocols including TCP/IP, InfiniBand, and RDMA.
Curiosity about massively parallel technologies like Lustre, GPFS, and Exascaler.
Aptitude for understanding AI workloads and how storage enables technological innovation.
Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both engineers and executives.
Customer-facing communication skills alongside strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Nice to Have

Hands-on experience with enterprise storage systems.
Experience working with artificial intelligence and machine learning infrastructure, high-performance computing, or high-performance workloads.
