Senior Robotics Software Engineer, Omen
About this role
Engineering teams spend their time developing operationally relevant, multi-asset autonomy for the Omen hover-to-cruise autonomous air vehicle at the Costa Mesa headquarters. Engineers in this position handle tasks spanning networking, autonomy, systems integration, robotics, and perception while navigating complex code bases and making pragmatic technical tradeoffs. The Maneuver Dominance group builds autonomous systems that support runway-independent platforms deployed to defense and civilian domains.
Candidates joining the team will own mission autonomy systems, write code to scale capabilities, and collaborate across departments to test functionality. Successful engineers possess a pragmatic mindset focused on execution, scale, and making sound decisions while keeping mission requirements top of mind.

- Write code to improve products and scale mission capabilities to a growing user base.
- Collaborate across multiple teams to plan, build, and test complex software functionality.
- Create and analyze metrics that are leveraged for debugging and monitoring systems.
- Triage issues, root cause failures, and coordinate next steps for resolution.
- Partner with end-users to turn needs into features while balancing user experience with engineering constraints.
- Travel up to 25 percent of the time to build, test, and deploy capabilities in the real world.
What you need
