About this role
Integrating robotic welding systems and automating manufacturing processes forms the core of daily activities for the Senior Robotics Integration Specialist at Anduril Industries. Working within the Maritime Manufacturing Technology Team in Santa Ana, California, the person in this position will design, construct, and commission production systems for maritime vehicles like surface, undersea, and sea-to-air hardware. The group focuses on rapidly scaling defense manufacturing and implementing novel technologies to support new factory sites and production lines.
Candidates joining this team will collaborate with product design, manufacturing engineering, operations, and finance to build efficient, schedule-effective factory solutions. What you will do
- Automate, innovate, and integrate industry leading robotic applications with manufacturing technology solutions for new welding processes supporting product and factory development.
- Create solutions in product and production system design to ensure cost- and schedule-effective setups for factories that meet product needs.
- Support the design, construction, commissioning, and start-up of production systems at new factory sites to guarantee successful delivery off the line.
- Provide technical feedback on product processes, materials, and technologies while buying down risk to meet production performance and timelines.
- Work hands-on to expedite project completion and collaborate with product design, manufacturing engineering, operations, facilities, environmental safety and health, and finance teams.
What you need
- Ten or more years of experience setting up, integrating, and troubleshooting automated robotic systems to support process technology development, manufacturing engineering, or production/process engineering.
- Demonstrated technology development experience in robotics, automation, end effector design, and process improvement.
- Ability to work hands-on in a manufacturing environment alongside operations and manufacturing engineering to optimize production systems.
- Must be a U.S. Person due to required access to U.S. export-controlled information or facilities.
Nice to have
- Prior work with engineering partners and/or contractors to build, improve, or modify automated production systems
- Process improvement including justification of return on investment for process or operational changes
- Application of lean manufacturing and linear flow principles in a production environment
- Metallurgical, welding, automation, and materials development for manufacturing processes across fabrication, assembly, integration, test, and finishing operations
