Role Overview

Natera invites applications for a Senior Manager of DevOps within the Molecular Biology Informatics & Statistics department. This remote role involves leading a dedicated DevOps team to develop, maintain, and optimize data platforms, cloud infrastructure, and automation systems. The successful candidate will manage software delivery, coach team members, and partner with cross-functional stakeholders to align infrastructure roadmaps and support cutting-edge medical diagnostics.

Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage a DevOps team to ensure timely and efficient delivery of software products and platforms.
Translate business needs and technical requirements into actionable system architecture and infrastructure design documents.
Monitor and optimize infrastructure performance, including network I/O, disk I/O, memory allocation, and compute resources.
Enforce procedures for quality, compliance, and regulatory standards within the department.
Oversee the creation and maintenance of technical documentation, such as verification and validation protocols, user guides, and design specifications.
Engage proactively with engineering and operational stakeholders to report platform metrics and resolve dependencies.

Requirements

Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Bioinformatics, or a related field, with at least 10 years of relevant industry experience (or fewer years with an advanced degree).
Minimum of 3 years of working experience in a highly regulated environment, such as CLIA or FDA compliant settings.
Minimum of 3 years of management experience leading a DevOps or software development team.
Demonstrable experience designing and maintaining custom-developed software tools for high-throughput production environments.
Experience in creating software design specification documents, user manuals, and verification and validation documents.

Nice to Have

Infrastructure as Code skills and experience using tools such as CloudFormation, Terraform, and Ansible.
Advanced degrees in a relevant discipline.

Skills and Tools

Excellent Python programming skills with cloud application and automation system development experience.
Proficiency with relational database management systems like PostgreSQL and MySQL.
Strong proficiency with AWS and its for-production software services.
Proficient Linux command line skills and past Linux application development experience.
Proficiency in Git workflow and version control systems like GitHub or GitLab.
Working knowledge of genomics data, including FASTQ, BAM, and VCF files.

Salary and Benefits

The pay range for this remote USA position is $151,000 to $188,700 USD, with actual compensation determined by factors such as skill set, experience, certifications, and location.
