What you will do
- Lead end-to-end accounting operations for an AI infrastructure lease portfolio, including monthly close activities, reconciliations, roll-forwards, and flux analysis.
- Apply technical accounting expertise under ASC 842 to evaluate complex infrastructure arrangements, lease classifications, measurements, modifications, embedded leases, and reassessments.
- Partner with Real Estate, Legal, and Finance departments during contract negotiations to ensure proper accounting treatment before financial commitments are finalized.
- Serve as a trusted finance partner to non-finance stakeholders by explaining the financial statement impact of business decisions in clear and simple terms.
- Collaborate cross-functionally to improve the data quality of upstream pipelines originating from operational and contract systems.
- Design and scale internal systems, processes, and controls to support a rapidly expanding lease portfolio.
- Collaborate with and mentor accounting professionals across the Infrastructure Accounting team.
- Drive process improvements and financial automation, including the use of AI tooling, to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting.
What you need
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a relevant field of study, with a CPA or equivalent preferred.
- Demonstrate strong technical accounting knowledge of ASC 842, specifically within infrastructure, data center, or compute-related arrangements.
- Bring experience managing a significant lease portfolio within a high-growth business environment.
- Showcase strong analytical abilities with hands-on experience handling large and complex datasets.
- Exhibit a proven track record of improving and scaling financial processes in fast-moving operational settings.
- Possess experience mentoring, developing, and leading accounting professionals.
- Demonstrate effective communication skills to translate technical accounting concepts for cross-functional partners and non-finance stakeholders.
