Senior Manager, Infrastructure Asset Accounting

Anthropic is expanding its infrastructure accounting team to manage the massive capital expenditures tied to its growing network of data centers, compute clusters, and specialized hardware. In this position, you will oversee the full financial lifecycle of these physical assets, tracking everything from raw components and silicon through deployment and eventual retirement.
The organization relies on this team to maintain strict financial accuracy and build scalable processes that keep pace with rapid infrastructure growth. You will collaborate closely with supply chain, legal, data center operations, and finance groups to evaluate procurement contracts and document technical accounting conclusions. Success in the role requires deep expertise in ASC 360, hands-on cost accounting judgment, and the ability to translate complex financial concepts into practical guidance for non-financial partners.
What you will do
- Manage end-to-end accounting for infrastructure assets throughout their lifecycle, covering prepayments, construction-in-progress, fixed asset deployment, and final disposal.
- Develop and maintain transaction flows mapping how costs and assets move through procurement, warehousing, integration, and service.
- Evaluate procurement arrangements and document technical conclusions using ASC 360 guidelines alongside cost accounting principles.
- Partner with legal, supply chain, and operations teams during contract negotiations to ensure financial implications are understood ahead of time.
- Act as a trusted advisor to non-finance stakeholders by explaining financial statement impacts in simple terms.
- Collaborate across teams to improve upstream data pipelines, serial-number tracking, and component existence controls.
- Design and scale internal controls, systems, and processes to support a growing portfolio of fixed assets.
- Coordinate with external auditors regarding capital expenditures, supply chain accounting, and fixed asset matters.
What you need
- Hold a Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- Demonstrate strong technical knowledge of ASC 360 as applied to data center or infrastructure assets.
- Possess applied experience with supply chain cost accounting, including bill-of-materials costing and landed cost analysis.
- Have experience building or maintaining end-to-end transaction flows and process maps across systems.
- Demonstrate hands-on experience managing a significant fixed asset or component portfolio in a fast-paced environment.
- Communicate clearly and influence cross-functional stakeholders effectively.
Nice to have
- 10+ years of progressive accounting experience at technology, hardware, or infrastructure companies
- Experience at hyperscalers, semiconductor firms, or data center operators with complex BOM assemblies
- Familiarity with ASC 330, ASC 842, and ASC 460
- Proficiency with enterprise subledger systems like NetSuite, Oracle, or SAP
- SQL proficiency for analyzing large datasets

What is the salary range for the Senior Manager position?
The annual salary range for this position is $190,000 to $230,000 USD. Total compensation is determined based on internal job level requirements.
