Role Overview

The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will help shape and build expanding machine learning use cases for both batch and real-time decision-making. Operating as a senior member of the data team, the professional in this position will contribute to platform architecture, data product thinking, and engineering best practices to build a scalable data platform supporting analytics and AI capabilities.

Key Responsibilities

Build and maintain the services, tools, and platforms utilized to deploy, serve, and operate machine learning models in production environments.
Manage machine learning workloads across the designated machine learning infrastructure.
Enhance automation throughout the machine learning lifecycle, encompassing deployment, model packaging, versioning, monitoring, and release procedures.
Boost reliability and observability across the machine learning platform and model-serving services by implementing metrics, logging, and alerting.
Engage in the team on-call rotation, analyze production incidents, and implement improvements to prevent future occurrences.
Work alongside data scientists, platform teams, and software engineers to transform machine learning use cases into dependable production solutions.
Engage in code reviews and technical discussions to foster maintainable designs and robust engineering standards.
Develop and upkeep operational runbooks along with technical documentation.

Requirements

Five or more years of professional experience in MLOps, machine learning engineering, or related functions.
Strong proficiency using the Python programming language.
Background working with managed machine learning platforms, such as Amazon SageMaker or comparable services.
Practical expertise in operating and deploying containerized workloads via Kubernetes and Docker.
Experience in operating or building inference services, backend APIs, or model-serving platforms.
Knowledge of feature-store principles, covering feature discovery, reuse, versioning, and offline or online consistency.
Familiarity with experiment tracking, model registries, and machine learning metadata management.
Understanding of scalability, reliability, and performance factors for real-time systems.
Practical background in provisioning and handling cloud infrastructure utilizing Terraform.
Background with automated testing, CI/CD pipelines, and Git-based development workflows.
Familiarity with production troubleshooting, metrics, logging, and alerting observability practices.
Solid understanding of software engineering principles and best standards.
Experience leading or contributing to data warehouse architecture or redesign projects.
Capacity to cooperate smoothly with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
