Role Overview

The Senior Data Scientist joins the AI Research and Development team to create intelligent systems where artificial intelligence sits at the heart of the user experience. Projects include customer onboarding, risk monitoring, pricing optimisation, support automation, and AI-assisted software development. The professional works across machine learning, generative AI, data, and software engineering to design and productionize reliable, scalable solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Design, create, and deploy artificial intelligence features and services addressing genuine customer and business needs.
Construct and integrate systems utilizing large language models, generative techniques, retrieval-augmented generation, agents, and automated workflows.
Collaborate alongside product managers, domain experts, and engineers to discover opportunities for artificial intelligence improvements.
Deliver production-grade solutions prioritizing quality, security, observability, and responsible development practices.
Assess models via continuous benchmarking, experimentation, and refinement.
Construct data pipelines, APIs, and service integrations supporting platform capabilities.
Enhance model reliability through prompt engineering, guardrails, monitoring, and feedback mechanisms.
Help shape internal engineering standards, reusable frameworks, and industry best practices.
Monitor emerging technological developments to apply novel advancements effectively.

Requirements

Robust software engineering background with solid proficiency in Python, Java, or similar programming languages.
Demonstrated history of building and launching production software systems.
Practical experience developing artificial intelligence applications or embedding models directly into products.
Knowledge of contemporary concepts including large language models, generative tools, embeddings, vector search, retrieval-augmented generation, and workflow automation.
Familiarity with toolkits and frameworks such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, LangChain, Hugging Face, or OpenAI APIs.
Competence working within cloud environments utilizing modern engineering methodologies like continuous integration, infrastructure as code, and API development.
Solid grounding in software design principles emphasizing maintainability, testing, and scalability.
Ability to explain complex technical ideas clearly to diverse audiences.

Nice to Have

Background building solutions within regulated sectors like fintech, banking, payments, compliance, or fraud prevention.
Exposure to specific use cases such as document intelligence, anomaly detection, personalisation, or developer productivity tools.
Familiarity with machine learning operations, model governance, and lifecycle management.
