Role Overview

The Senior Machine Learning Engineer will take ownership of end-to-end machine learning systems designed for clinical decision support and operational insight. The person in this role will collaborate closely with software, computer vision, and clinical teams to translate complex medical questions into robust, production-ready technology. Responsibilities include building reliable architectures that meet strict medical-grade standards while operating safely within live healthcare workflows.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, construct, and launch production machine learning models and pipelines tailored to a specific area of expertise.
Combine structured electronic health record data with computer vision model outputs to drive downstream medical applications.
Monitor deployed systems for data drift, manage model health, and establish rigorous performance evaluation protocols.
Maintain model calibration, robustness, and interpretability by providing clear explanations for clinical users.
Collaborate across product, engineering, regulatory, and clinical departments to define technical requirements.
Author regulatory documentation for machine learning systems, including validation reports and data descriptions.
Guide team members, share knowledge, and set high standards for applied machine learning experimentation.

Requirements

Minimum of 4 years of professional experience building and deploying machine learning systems into production environments.
Demonstrated, deep proficiency in at least one core machine learning discipline, such as tabular modeling, multimodal systems, or inference infrastructure.
Advanced programming capabilities in Python, accompanied by sound testing methodologies and CI/CD practices.
Strong critical thinking skills capable of transforming ambiguous business needs into measurable hypotheses.
Solid understanding of production machine learning monitoring techniques, tracking performance and health over time.
Clear communication skills paired with a cooperative, product-focused working style.

Nice to Have

Master of Science or doctoral degree in a technical discipline.
Prior working history involving healthcare data or regulated machine learning applications.
Familiarity with multimodal, stacked, longitudinal, or time-series modeling.
Published academic papers or contributions to open-source machine learning projects.
Past experience leading or mentoring technical talent.
