About this role

The Manufacturing Design Team at Anduril Industries builds advanced defense hardware like static equipment, ground vehicles, sensors, and flight vehicles, scaling production across facilities including Arsenal-1 using Lattice OS. Industrial Engineering delivers simulation models that quantify capacity, identify constraints, stress-test production plans, and evaluate capital investment trade-offs before physical implementation.

This senior position owns and scales the enterprise manufacturing simulation capability as a durable, decision-grade asset. The person in this role will balance managing a centralized service intake system with hands-on integration into the Manufacturing Development Plan process to model line designs and rate-readiness scenarios. An ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced environment with ambiguity, possesses strong operations research expertise, and effectively collaborates across supply chain, engineering, quality, and operations to turn manufacturing predictability into a strategic advantage.

What you will do

  • Own and architect enterprise discrete event simulation and operations-research capabilities as long-lived foundational assets for manufacturing line design.
  • Build and manage a centralized intake and prioritization process to scope and resource high-impact simulation requests from across the organization.
  • Integrate simulation into the Manufacturing Development Plan process from early-stage concepts to mature production validation.
  • Capture physical constraints, business rules, and detailed decision logic into validated models in close collaboration with material flow, layout, and labor standards teams.
  • Design data pipelines that ingest live production metrics like cycle times, yields, downtime, and labor to keep models aligned with reality.
  • Lead high-stakes simulation studies including capacity modeling, NPI ramp simulation, capital-investment analysis, line balancing, and production risk planning.
  • Establish rigorous validation standards aiming for a plus or minus 5 percent variance between simulated and actual primary metrics.

What you need

  • Demonstrated professional experience in industrial engineering focusing on manufacturing simulation and operations research.
  • Expertise in discrete event simulation, Monte Carlo methods, and statistical optimization models such as regression and queuing.
  • Proven ability to collaborate across multidisciplinary groups including supply chain, engineering, quality, and program management.
  • Experience designing data pipelines and working with live production data in manufacturing environments.
  • Strong capability in translating complex simulation outputs into clear, defensible recommendations for leadership decision-making.
