About this role
Figure needs an experienced Senior Engineering Technician to assemble, integrate, and troubleshoot complex autonomous humanoid robot systems and testing equipment. The person stepping into this position will take complete ownership of assigned hardware assets, maintaining configuration, uptime, and system readiness while partnering closely with engineers to resolve failures.
Daily work involves hands-on mechanical and electrical troubleshooting, running subsystem tests, and refining operational procedures for better safety and reliability. Candidates who thrive here are independent problem-solvers with a strong background in electromechanical systems, Linux environments, and diagnostic tools who want to advance general-purpose robotics.
What you will do
- Assemble, bring up, integrate, and maintain advanced robotic systems, subsystems, and testing equipment.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, and system failures independently utilizing logs, test gear, and technical documentation.
- Manage assigned hardware and test assets to ensure high uptime, proper configuration, upgrades, and operational readiness.
- Run tests on systems and subsystems while documenting, identifying, and escalating any observed failures.
- Collaborate with engineers to replicate problems, test patches, and drive technical issues to final resolution.
- Enhance existing workflows, tools, fixtures, and procedures to boost reliability, quality, efficiency, and safety.
- Keep thorough records of repairs, configuration states, test outcomes, and ongoing issues.
- Provide training and technical guidance to other technicians regarding hardware maintenance, troubleshooting, and workflows.
What you need
