Enterprise clients struggle to transition artificial intelligence from experimental prototypes into scalable, production-grade applications built on the Anthropic ecosystem. Artefact addresses this challenge by embedding specialized engineers directly into client organizations to design and deliver robust AI systems.
As a Senior Deployed AI Engineer, you will take AI products from initial concept to production by building user-facing interfaces, backend services, and retrieval pipelines. You will specialize in the Claude platform while working across full-stack development, cloud infrastructure, and data engineering. The role exists to bridge the gap between complex business challenges and pragmatic AI adoption, requiring direct client communication and technical leadership.
An ideal candidate brings hands-on software engineering experience alongside deep familiarity with LLM development, agentic tooling, and client-facing consulting. You should possess strong programming fundamentals in Python and TypeScript, coupled with a practical approach to system reliability, evaluation, and end-to-end delivery.
What you will do
- Develop user-facing interfaces using TypeScript and React alongside backend services in Python or Node.
- Build agentic systems with the Claude API and Claude Agent SDK, incorporating tool use, structured outputs, and orchestration.
- Construct retrieval-augmented generation pipelines including data ingestion, chunking, embeddings, and vector search.
- Deploy cloud-hosted agents and manage enterprise integrations through the Model Context Protocol.
- Write evaluation suites, regression tests, and monitoring tools to track cost, latency, and system quality in production.
- Develop, schedule, and monitor data pipelines using Apache Airflow while optimizing ETL processes for performance.
- Communicate project progress, technical trade-offs, and blockers directly with international clients and project leads.
What you need
- Three to five years of experience in software or data engineering with extensive hands-on use of AI tools and LLM development over the past year.
- Professional English proficiency at a C1 or C2 level for daily interaction with international clients and colleagues.
- Strong hands-on experience with the Anthropic ecosystem including the Claude API, Claude Agent SDK or Claude Code, and MCP.
- Strong programming skills in Python and TypeScript or JavaScript with experience building and consuming APIs.
- Practical experience with front-end development in React, at least one backend framework, and vector search or RAG.
- Working experience with at least one cloud platform such as GCP, AWS, or Azure.
- Obtain an Anthropic certification within the first two months in the role if not already certified.
Nice to have
- Experience with MCP servers, multi-agent patterns, or LLM evaluation tooling like LangSmith and Langfuse
- Experience with Terraform or CI/CD pipelines
- Contributions to the MCP ecosystem, published MCP servers, or open-source agentic tooling
