Role Overview

Payoneer seeks a Senior Data Scientist to join a newly formed machine learning team in Herzliya. This founding role involves designing modeling standards, establishing technical frameworks, and helping hire future team members.

Key Responsibilities

Construct evaluation frameworks for generative artificial intelligence and large language model agents, incorporating benchmark datasets and monitoring for quality and safety
Manage the complete machine learning lifecycle, handling research, experimentation, production deployment, and ongoing monitoring
Create machine learning models addressing challenges in payments, risk management, and customer analytics
Collaborate with the technology lead to establish core modeling methodologies and analytical standards
Define procedures for feature engineering, model validation, experimentation, and performance tracking
Conduct exploratory research to identify opportunities and test new techniques
Communicate findings to business stakeholders and translate operational problems into technical solutions
Guide documentation standards and assist with onboarding and mentoring incoming data scientists

Requirements

Five or more years of professional experience in machine learning, data science, or a related technical discipline
Demonstrated background in developing and releasing production-grade machine learning models
Practical experience evaluating generative artificial intelligence and large language models, including judge frameworks and retrieval-augmented generation systems
Proficiency in Python, SQL, and machine learning libraries such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, and Scikit-learn
Familiarity with cloud infrastructure including AWS, Google Cloud Platform, or Azure, alongside machine learning operations practices
Background in technology leadership, making technical stack decisions, and setting development standards
Bachelor of Science or Master of Science degree in Computer Science, Artificial Intelligence, Data Science, Mathematics, or a related quantitative field
