About this role

You will spend your days designing and delivering innovative machine learning detection engines that operate across millions of machines worldwide and evaluate billions of events daily. Joining the Static AI team at SentinelOne in the Czech Republic, you will research new artificial intelligence approaches, build analytics systems from diverse data sources, and make sub-second decisions to stop malware before execution. This role exists to strengthen an AI-native platform that unifies protection across endpoints, cloud, identity, and data systems. Professionals who succeed here combine data science, machine learning engineering, and software engineering skills while maintaining an independent, end-to-end project ownership approach.

The team operates at the intersection of security and artificial intelligence, requiring cross-functional collaboration and the integration of advanced research into production environments. You will coordinate closely with product, support, and engineering colleagues across a globally distributed organization to translate complex requirements into scalable technical solutions. Candidates who thrive in this setting possess strong communication skills, an intrinsic curiosity, and a readiness to tackle challenging machine learning problems within the cybersecurity domain.

What you will do

  • Design and deliver innovative machine-learning-based detection engines that execute sub-second decisions to stop malware prior to running.
  • Research novel artificial intelligence and machine learning approaches while collaborating with peers to integrate promising advancements into the product.
  • Build robust analytics systems that learn from numerous internal and external data sources to refine existing models and develop new ones.
  • Collect, build, and tailor large datasets specifically for training machine learning algorithms using fundamental statistics and classical methods.
  • Translate business requirements into technical solutions by collaborating effectively across various cross-functional groups.
  • Own projects independently from the initial research phase through to production deployment.
  • Communicate complex technical concepts clearly with stakeholders from product, support, and engineering backgrounds.

What you need

  • Hold a degree in Computer Science or Mathematics, or possess equivalent practical experience.
  • Demonstrate at least 3 years of professional experience designing, training, and evaluating machine learning models in production systems.
  • Actively utilize artificial intelligence tools as a regular part of your daily workflow.
  • Bring a solid grounding in fundamental machine learning concepts alongside experience tailoring large datasets.
  • Show the ability to work independently to resolve difficult problems and own projects end-to-end.
  • Possess strong communication skills to coordinate with diverse, globally distributed team members across multiple departments.

Nice to have

  • Cyber domain experience working on security products, especially detection systems like static file analysis
  • Cloud infrastructure and MLOps experience
  • Experience with Spark, PySpark, or Databricks

Benefits

  • Restricted Stock Units (RSUs) and Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP)
  • Performance-based bonus
  • Flexible time off on top of standard 5 weeks PTO, paid company wellness days, and fully paid short-term sick or nursing leave
  • Gender-neutral parental leave, private medical care, life and disability insurance
  • Pension insurance contribution, global business travel medical insurance, and Employee Assistance Program
