Principal AI Platform Engineer (Lead Architect) is an engineering leadership role located in Poland within SentinelOne. This position suits a senior technologist with extensive experience in distributed systems and production-grade artificial intelligence who wants to direct the technical roadmap for enterprise security technology.

Key Responsibilities

Define the technical vision and multi-year roadmap for the organization's AI Platform, covering areas such as model gateway and routing, agent infrastructure, evaluation pipelines, and AI observability in partnership with engineering leadership.
Act as the technical lead by establishing architecture decisions, determining engineering standards, reviewing critical designs, and guiding implementation across the team without personnel management responsibilities.
Support critical business initiatives by collaborating with product and engineering leaders to convert business strategy into platform capabilities and clear engineering priorities.
Collaborate with product teams to hands-on build customer-facing AI experiences, subsequently transforming those implementations into shared, reusable platform capabilities.
Conduct technology selection and determine build-versus-buy strategies for the platform core stack while evaluating security, financial cost, scalability, and delivery speed.
Mentor senior engineers throughout the organization and function as a recognized authority on AI infrastructure.

Requirements

Minimum of 12 years of experience building and operating large-scale distributed systems, featuring several years leading the architecture of platform or infrastructure products utilized by multiple teams.
Practical production experience deploying LLM-based systems, including model integration and routing, retrieval or agent architectures, evaluation frameworks, and cost, latency, and quality optimization.
Proficient backend coding capabilities in a mainstream programming language such as Python or Go, alongside extensive experience with Kubernetes and cloud infrastructure.
Product acumen demonstrated through building customer-facing products, translating user requirements into technical decisions, and interacting with business stakeholders.
Track record as a technical lead for cross-team initiatives with ambiguous requirements, converting vague goals into structured technical roadmaps.
