Fora is building a modern travel advisory platform that integrates AI throughout the advisor's workflow to modernize the travel industry. The Data Science & Analytics team develops the quantitative foundations that guide business growth, forecasting, and strategic planning across the company.
In the Senior Data Scientist, Business Analytics position, the individual will own the growth operating model, steer weekly forecasting, and advise executive leadership and founders on strategic investments. This foundational role requires partnering closely with Finance and Strategy & Operations to model business trends, size opportunities, and evaluate pricing initiatives.

What you will do
- Manage the growth operating model used to forecast business performance, run scenarios, and guide weekly operations.
- Collaborate with Strategy & Operations and Finance during goal-setting and forecasting cycles.
- Examine company data to diagnose and explain underlying business trajectories and trends.
- Size opportunities and model the impact of pricing changes and new business initiatives to direct investments.
- Partner with founders and executive leadership to shape strategic decisions and company investments.
- Elevate the data team by mentoring peers, setting best practices, and defining processes, tools, and standards.
What you need
- Bring 5+ years of experience in business analytics, business data science, or strategy and analytics, preferably within consumer or marketplace companies.
- Demonstrate experience building financial or operating models using quantitative methods like cohort analysis, regression analysis, and forecasting.
- Possess advanced SQL skills along with a preference for proficiency in Python or another scripting language.
- Have hands-on experience using a modern cloud data stack such as BigQuery, dbt, Airbyte, Hex, Omni, or equivalents alongside data modeling best practices.
- Utilize LLM tools like Cursor, Claude Code, or OpenAI Codex to accelerate analysis and prototyping.
- Exhibit strong communication and storytelling abilities paired with a deeply curious and pragmatic approach to real-world business impact.

What is the remote work policy for this role?
This role is based in our beautiful New York City office (Tribeca/Fidi) with lots of natural light and great views. Authorization to work in the United States is required for full-time roles based in our New York City office.
What is the compensation range for this position?
Compensation for this role varies based on experience, with an indicative range of $130K–$185K + equity. Final compensation will depend on the level at which the candidate is hired, as we’re considering multiple levels for this role.
