Role Overview

Senior Applied AI Engineer, AI Platform is a remote position based in Spain offered by bunch. The person in this role takes AI systems from working prototypes to relied-upon production infrastructure. Responsibilities include building document extraction pipelines, agent workflows, evaluation layers, and multi-provider fallback architectures within EU data residency constraints.

Key Responsibilities

Build and ship agents that automate real fund-operations workflows from prototype through production.
Evaluate and improve agent performance by building evaluation layers, regression suites in CI, and human review processes.
Own the AI application architecture including orchestration, multi-agent design, tool contracts, memory, and context engineering with RAG and MCP.
Run AI systems in production with versioned feature-flagged rollouts, rate limits, provider fallback, and regional failover within EU data residency.
Establish platforms and shared evaluation/observability tooling for other teams while mentoring engineers on agent and LLM practices.

Requirements

5+ years of experience building production software, including at least one agent or LLM-powered capability taken end to end.
Depth in orchestration and context engineering such as tool contracts, memory, RAG, and multi-agent design using Mastra, ai-sdk, LangGraph, or similar.
Practical experience making non-deterministic systems measurable through test cases, regression suites, and human review.
Track record of owning production systems by reading traces, diagnosing failure modes, tuning cost and latency, and handling provider limits.
Experience with TypeScript and/or Python backend development.

Nice to Have

Experience in fintech, private markets, or another regulated, document-heavy domain.
Experience working under EU data-residency constraints.
