The position focuses on overseeing financial controls, audit processes, and reporting for Anthropic's growing T&E function.

Key Responsibilities

Manage daily T&E controls such as approvals, card issuance, spend limits, segregation of duties, and policy exceptions.
Keep T&E process narratives and risk/control matrices up to date as systems evolve.
Ensure accurate general-ledger coding and complete month-end reconciliations across Navan, Brex, and Workday; support close, flux analysis, and accruals.
Serve as primary contact for internal and external auditors, gathering evidence, facilitating walkthroughs, and tracking remediation.
Configure entity-level coding and approval flows in Brex and Navan for new legal entities and countries.
Document country-specific rules for per diems, VAT reclaim, non-USD cards, receipt requirements, and local tax treatment; collaborate with Tax, Payroll, and Global Mobility.
Design and operate a risk-based audit program that includes sampling, anomaly detection, misuse escalation, and remediation tracking.
Develop dashboards and reports on policy compliance, exceptions, and control performance for finance leadership.
Partner with the Head of T&E to deploy AI tools such as Claude for transaction review and automated reporting.
Oversee day-to-day T&E operations, platform configuration, and automation to support increasing travel and expense volume.
Review transactions and receipts, determining which tasks can be automated versus manually staffed.
Work with Benefits, Payroll, and Legal to ensure compliance with local and country-specific regulations.

Minimum 7 years of experience in travel & expense, corporate accounting, internal audit, or finance operations, preferably within a high-growth technology environment.
Hands-on experience with SOX or internal controls, including writing process narratives, testing controls, and interacting with external auditors.
