Senior AI Engineer - EU
About this role
Typeform needs an experienced engineer to scale the backend systems and machine learning workflows that power Research Flow and other conversational products. The team builds the infrastructure behind AI features that handle quantitative and qualitative research, requiring robust application development from experimentation to production.
In this role, the engineer will design generative AI applications, enterprise RAG systems, and agentic workflows using Python, AWS, and Kubernetes. The position exists to turn experimental concepts into secure, scalable customer experiences while establishing technical standards for evaluation and deployment across the organization.
An ideal candidate brings a strong software engineering foundation combined with practical experience deploying large language models and vector search solutions at scale. Someone who thrives in a collaborative, cross-functional environment working alongside product managers and data scientists will succeed here.
What you will do
- Design, build, and deploy generative AI capabilities across products with a specific focus on Research Flow.
- Operate machine learning services and workflows using Python, Docker, Kubernetes, and AWS.
- Build automated evaluation pipelines and benchmarks to measure accuracy, relevance, fairness, latency, and cost.
- Establish reusable patterns and technical standards for building, evaluating, and releasing AI systems.
- Collaborate with Product, Engineering, Data Science, and Analytics teams to connect AI investments with customer needs.
What you need
- Bring at least four years of experience building and deploying machine learning or AI systems in production.
- Possess strong Python and software engineering skills with experience using frameworks like FastAPI.
- Demonstrate practical experience developing generative AI applications using large language models, RAG, and agentic systems.
- Have hands-on experience with tools such as PyTorch, LangChain, LangGraph, AWS, Docker, Kubernetes, and Terraform.
- Show familiarity with monitoring tools, vector databases, Kafka, and MLflow for managing machine learning workflows.
Nice to have
- Experience working in a B2B SaaS product company.
- Experience with orchestration tools such as Airflow or Argo Workflows.
- Familiarity with SQL, Spark, Snowflake, or other data processing technologies.
- Experience building systems that combine structured data, unstructured data, and generative AI.
- Experience with AI security, privacy, responsible AI, prompt injection protection, or data leakage prevention.
