About this role

To address complex drug discovery bottlenecks and advance rational drug design through predictive and generative AI, Isomorphic Labs is seeking a Research Leader in DMPK for the Cambridge, MA office. The DMPK and Quantitative Pharmacology team builds AI-first solutions to accelerate the delivery of high quality drug candidates by integrating domain expertise with advanced machine learning platforms.

In this capacity, the person in this role will drive the DMPK strategy of drug discovery projects, design screening cascades, and shape the development of state-of-the-art ADME and toxicology predictive models. Working closely with interdisciplinary drug discovery experts and machine learning specialists, the incoming leader will bridge traditional pharmacology with digital biology.

Candidates who thrive in this environment possess a deep scientific background in pharmaceutical sciences combined with hands-on experience in small molecule drug discovery. This role suits a collaborative scientist eager to tackle monumental challenges in human health by turning biological complexity into actionable data insights.

What you will do

  • Design and implement stage-appropriate DMPK strategies using an AI-first approach that integrates quantitative pharmacology and project goals.
  • Develop screening cascades and mechanistic experiments to support project progression in a data-driven manner.
  • Integrate DMPK, pharmacodynamic, and toxicological data to extract decision-making information including dose and safety window predictions.
  • Collaborate with Chemistry Leads to optimize molecule design based on physico-chemistry and biotransformation knowledge.
  • Maintain awareness of state-of-the-art technologies and methods to increase confidence in human pharmacokinetic predictions.
  • Author DMPK sections of regulatory documents to support early clinical development.
  • Partner closely with Preclinical and Clinical teams to deliver scientific expertise and strategic direction.

What you need

  • Hold a PhD in Pharmaceutical Science, Pharmacy, Chemistry, or another relevant subject.
  • Bring 7 to 10+ years of professional experience in a DMPK role within a biotech or pharmaceutical setting.
  • Demonstrate a track record of solving small molecule DMPK-related problems and delivering high-quality clinical candidates collaboratively.
  • Possess practical experience developing DMPK and quantitative pharmacology packages to support early clinical development and regulatory filings.
  • Have in-depth knowledge of biotransformation, pharmacokinetics modelling, and the scaling of ADME properties.

Nice to have

  • Experience with peptides and other new modalities
  • Advanced knowledge of PK/PD modelling
  • Good understanding of machine learning techniques
  • Familiarity with Python and R
