Role Overview
WPP is seeking a Project Manager for Enterprise AI Governance based in Chennai, India. This professional will help establish controls, processes, and evidence trails that enable AI innovation to scale safely and responsibly across the enterprise.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain the governance evidence base for Enterprise AI by ensuring decisions, approvals, controls, and supporting artefacts are documented, traceable, and audit-ready.
Support the implementation of responsible AI practices covering data handling, acceptable use, risk management, and control requirements.
Monitor and maintain the governance view of the Enterprise AI agent estate to ensure new capabilities are appropriately registered, reviewed, and governed.
Support the development, maintenance, and communication of Enterprise AI policies, standards, and governance frameworks.
Collaborate closely with delivery and programme teams to ensure governance requirements are considered early and embedded into delivery processes.
Coordinate governance reviews, approvals, and risk assessments to ensure issues are identified and addressed promptly.
Support internal and external audit activities by providing documentation, evidence, and process visibility.
Track governance actions, risks, and decisions to maintain transparency across the Enterprise AI portfolio.
Identify opportunities to strengthen governance processes, controls, and operating practices as AI adoption scales.
Partner with stakeholders across Technology, Risk, Security, Legal, and Compliance functions for a consistent governance approach.
Requirements
Working exposure to Microsoft Copilot, Microsoft 365 governance, or digital transformation programmes.
Experience in governance, risk, compliance, controls, audit, or operational assurance within a large multinational organisation.
Strong understanding of governance principles and the importance of maintaining accurate records, evidence, and audit trails.
Experience working with technology, data, digital transformation, or enterprise platforms in a governance-related capacity.
Knowledge of technology risk, data handling controls, and regulatory or policy-driven operating environments.
Strong organisational skills with exceptional attention to detail and documentation discipline.
Ability to assess issues objectively, challenge appropriately, and make balanced recommendations.
Confidence working with senior stakeholders and providing governance oversight in fast-paced environments.
Excellent written communication skills to produce clear policies, standards, governance documentation, and reports.
Proactive and pragmatic approach that balances governance requirements with business needs and delivery timelines.
Nice to Have
Experience in a regulated, audit-scoped, or highly controlled environment.
Familiarity with AI governance frameworks, responsible AI principles, or emerging technology risk management.
Experience with ServiceNow or similar workflow, governance, or controls platforms.
Previous experience within a global matrix organisation, ideally within technology, media, consulting, or professional services.
