Role Overview

The Program Manager, Foundation AI position sits at the intersection of product, platform engineering, sensor intelligence, data science, and machine learning. This role translates complex technical initiatives into actionable plans, manages dependencies, and guides model development from the initial kickoff stage through deployment and stabilization.

Key Responsibilities

Guide Foundation AI projects from launch through development, deployment, and stabilization phases.
Assist the VP of Foundation AI in turning strategy into structured roadmaps with defined milestones, risks, dependencies, and success metrics.
Create project plans that match business targets and algorithm performance requirements.
Set up governance processes including planning cadences, status reports, decision meetings, and executive updates.
Coordinate with Data Science, Sensor Intelligence, WHOOP Labs, Data Engineering, Software, and Firmware departments to align goals.
Bring together key stakeholders to support timely decision-making.
Collaborate on compute infrastructure planning by evaluating availability constraints, capacity forecasts, vendor lead times, and vendor tradeoffs.
Work alongside the broader RAD program management team to refine the development process.
Identify and handle project risks by putting mitigations in place.
Facilitate cross-functional communication across the organization.

Requirements

Two or more years of industry experience in project or program management focused on AI, machine learning, data platforms, or large-scale systems.
Prior experience collaborating with applied machine learning or AI teams.
Working knowledge of agile methods, sprint planning, and backlog grooming.
Data-driven approach to strategic planning with the ability to review metrics and measure success.
Familiarity with core AI and machine learning concepts such as model training, data pipelines, inference, evaluation, and experimentation.
Clear communication skills to connect technical teams with business stakeholders.
Ability to influence without authority and build alignment across diverse groups.

Nice to Have

Prior experience collaborating with research teams.
Background working in consumer technology, platforms, or data-driven products.
Experience organizing projects using Jira or comparable platforms.

Salary and Benefits

The base salary range for this position is $125,000 to $175,000 per year. In addition to base pay, the compensation package includes equity and employee benefits.
