Based in San Francisco, CA, New York City, NY, or Seattle, WA, this role suits experienced product leaders with deep scientific or technical knowledge who want to build foundational tools for researchers.

Key Responsibilities

Own the end-to-end vision, strategy, roadmap, and execution for a major area of Claude Science while contributing to overall product direction.
Conduct interviews, working sessions, and customer conversations with working scientists to synthesize clear priorities, requirements, and success metrics.
Partner directly with research teams to define target behaviors, build scientific evaluations, and feed real usage failure modes back into model development.
Drive feature and model launches from end to end, coordinating across research, engineering, design, and go-to-market teams.
Identify new scientific domains, data sources, and tools to integrate, building cases supported by user evidence and usage data.
Prototype ideas using Claude to validate concepts prior to committing engineering time.
Collaborate with policy, security, and safeguards partners to ensure powerful scientific capabilities reach trusted researchers responsibly in enterprise and regulated settings.
Drive enterprise readiness through security reviews, compliance, admin controls, and procurement workflows for pharma and biotech organizations.
Prioritize ruthlessly across broad scientific domains, customer segments, and competing workflows to distinguish between MVP and ideal states.
Define success measurements focused on adoption, retention, time-to-result, and output trust among working scientists.

Requirements

Product management experience shipping technical products in close partnership with engineering and design, or equivalent background as a founder, engineer, or scientist.
Scientific or deeply technical background capable of reasoning with domain experts about complex workflows and diagnosing model shortcomings.
Strong grasp of artificial intelligence and Large Language Model concepts, utilizing AI tools daily with comfort in model behavior, prompting, and evaluation.
Data-driven mindset that grounds prioritization in usage data and evaluation results rather than intuition alone.
Strong user empathy with the ability to synthesize contradictory feedback from expert users into actionable priorities.
Ability to navigate and execute amid ambiguity using first-principles thinking.
Clear written communication skills capable of aligning multidisciplinary stakeholders through influence.

Nice to Have

Eight or more years in product leadership or product management, including taking zero-to-one products to scale.
