Role Overview

Anthropic is hiring a senior Product Designer for Growth in San Francisco, CA. The role suits designers who excel at turning ambiguous data into clear product visions and who can lead end-to-end growth initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

Own the growth experience for Claude users, managing the full lifecycle from onboarding to daily workflows.
Diagnose drivers of habitual use and obstacles by combining analytics, research, and direct product interaction.
Define a strategic vision and translate it into a roadmap with product, engineering, and data-science partners.
Redesign core product components such as onboarding, first-run experiences, and everyday workflow interfaces.
Formulate hypotheses, run experiments, and evaluate outcomes with a nuanced view beyond top-line metrics.
Deliver high-quality interaction designs and raise the design standards for the growth area.
Align cross-functional teams whose work impacts user adoption, linking individual usage to broader company goals.
Mentor junior designers and clearly frame problems to enable shared ownership.
Rapidly prototype and test concepts using Claude Code and other AI-enhanced tools.

Requirements

Portfolio showcasing shipped product design work with strong vision and craftsmanship.
Proven experience owning growth for a major product area, including problem diagnosis and direction setting.
Deep expertise in growth design areas such as activation, onboarding, retention, engagement, or expansion at scale.
Hands-on experience designing, launching, and interpreting experiments to guide product decisions.
Fluency with product analytics concepts like funnels, retention, and engagement metrics.
Proficiency with design and prototyping tools, specifically Figma and Claude Code, and a habit of adopting new tools.
Strong collaboration and communication abilities, with a track record of aligning product, engineering, and data-science teams.

Nice to Have

Leadership of growth strategy across multiple teams or product domains.
Experience designing enterprise/B2B SaaS, productivity, or collaboration tools.
Background in product-led growth from individual users to team and company-wide rollouts.
Mentoring experience or involvement in shaping a design practice.
Ability to query data directly using SQL or similar languages.
Front-end prototyping skills with HTML, CSS, or JavaScript.
