Speak is seeking a Product Designer for Consumer to join the team in San Francisco or to work remotely. This role centers on shaping the core interactive moments that help individuals build real-world language speaking confidence through AI-powered education. Key Responsibilities

Design comprehensive end-to-end product experiences for Speak's consumer learning surfaces, maintaining deep empathy for users across various cultures and proficiency levels.
Focus on pivotal growth moments, including onboarding, activation, habit formation, retention, and subscription experiences, while safeguarding learning outcomes.
Build rapid prototypes using AI tools, code, or interactive design software to test ideas before final development.
Collaborate closely with Engineering, Product, Data, and Research teams to evaluate impact and elevate the quality of learner-facing features.
Analyze qualitative and quantitative feedback to understand user behavior and guide strong product decisions.
Invent unique interaction models for AI-driven education that move past standard templates.

Requirements

Bring six or more years of professional product design experience working on high-quality consumer goods.
Demonstrate a strong user-centric mindset, actively seeking out real user perspectives and testing work early to gather valuable insights.
Apply structured product thinking to frame problems effectively and articulate simple narrative directions.
Utilize an AI-native workflow, incorporating artificial intelligence creatively into the design process to enhance speed and output.
Exhibit high design taste and craft, balancing rapid execution with knowing when to invest in final polish.
Possess exceptional communication skills to build trust, guide stakeholders, and collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.

Nice to Have

Background in education, language learning, or cross-cultural product spaces.
Strong preference for using prototypes to communicate concepts and test assumptions.
A comprehensive portfolio showcasing user-centric design, innovation, and high craft.
Experience contributing to scalable design systems.
