The machine learning engineering team at Attentive builds and operates production-grade machine learning systems that power personalized experiences for hundreds of millions of customers across thousands of brands. This role focuses on scaling and operating real-time personalization across the platform while partnering closely with product and engineering groups.

What you will do
- Build, scale, and operate production-grade machine learning systems that drive real-time personalization across the platform.
- Partner closely with product and engineering teams to deliver high-impact projects.
- Protect system quality and prevent regressions through various rigorous testing techniques.
- Improve project quality through both direct code contributions and long-term technical advocacy.
- Lead cross-functional machine learning initiatives across different teams.
- Build scalable, efficient, and automated processes for large-scale data analysis, model development, validation, and implementation.
What you need
- Bring 10 or more years of professional experience building systems, with sufficient time spent on single systems to observe the long-term consequences of technical decisions.
- Demonstrate extensive experience using machine learning and data analysis to build scalable systems and data-driven products with cross-functional teams.
- Possess proficiency or experience using Python for model development and automation.
- Show familiarity with tools and frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, XGBoost, pandas, matplotlib, SQL, and Spark.
- Display a proven track record of creating automated processes for modern machine learning research implementation.

What is the compensation for this role?
The US base salary range for this full-time position is $350,000 to $430,000 annually, plus equity and benefits. Salary ranges are determined by role, level, and location.
What technologies are used in the infrastructure and automation?
Infrastructure runs primarily in Kubernetes hosted in AWS's EKS with tooling like Istio, Datadog, Terraform, CloudFlare, and Helm. Automation is driven by custom and open source machine learning models built with Python, Metaflow, HuggingFace, PyTorch, TensorFlow, and pandas.
