Precisely builds high-performance SaaS applications and data integrity solutions within an AI-first organization that weaves artificial intelligence into product development and problem-solving. This Principal Software Engineer role involves leading architecture for an investment segment, designing scalable Node-based systems, and collaborating with Product Managers to translate stakeholder requirements into detailed technical backlog items. The position suits an experienced technical leader with a strong background in backend architecture, data-intensive software, and team mentorship who can balance strategic system design with hands-on development.
What you will do
- Design and architect scalable, robust, and high-performance Node-based applications for SaaS products.
- Lead architecture for all components within an investment segment while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
- Partner with Product Managers during product planning and translate stakeholder requirements into clear user epics and stories.
- Participate in story grooming exercises to deliver crisp and unambiguous documentation for the engineering team.
- Coordinate with architects to ensure technical decisions are properly implemented and identify opportunities for automation.
- Mentor and guide a team of engineers while driving software reliability, performance, and scalability standards.
What you need
- Possess 8 to 10+ years of professional experience in software engineering focused on building data-intensive and scalable SaaS applications.
- Demonstrate expert-level backend development experience utilizing Node.js.
- Hold a Bachelor’s degree or higher in a technical field.
- Bring proven expertise working with databases such as Mongo Atlas and developing or consuming REST APIs.
- Bring exposure to cloud-native technologies including Docker, Kubernetes, Kafka, and microservices architecture.
- Understand agile and scrum methodologies thoroughly.
- Show proficiency with AI-assisted coding tools and the ability to evaluate AI-generated code.
Nice to have
- Experience with Java
- Familiarity with frontend scripting languages like React
- Hands-on experience with AWS, Azure, or GCP, Redis, Security Domain, Datadog, and Codefresh
- Working knowledge of data ETL
- Experience building or architecting agentic workflows and multi-step AI pipelines
