About this role

A candidate who enjoys a hands-on engineering role focused on ensuring the quality and reliability of complex systems will find this position suitable. This role is situated within the Radar team at Anduril Industries, a defense technology company focused on transforming military capabilities with advanced technology, including Lattice OS. The team is responsible for the entire lifecycle of state-of-the-art radar systems, from initial concept through production. This Platform Engineer will play a critical part in ensuring the quality of the radar software portfolio by establishing and maintaining the necessary test and release infrastructure.

This engineer will work closely with interdisciplinary teams to define testing strategies and build automated validation infrastructure. The work involves testing against actual radar hardware, developing hardware-in-the-loop and software-in-the-loop environments, and maturing prototypes into dependable products. The objective is to reduce manual validation efforts, catch regressions early, and ensure that software releases are repeatable, traceable, and auditable.

This role is essential because the company is rapidly integrating autonomy, AI, and sensor fusion into military systems. By developing robust testing and release mechanisms, this engineer helps accelerate the delivery of these complex radar solutions to meet strategic timelines.

What you will do

  • Develop and execute manual and automated test plans, test cases, and scripts for radar software and firmware, covering functional, regression, integration, and hardware-in-the-loop testing.
  • Identify, document, and track software and firmware defects, collaborating with developers to reproduce issues and determine root causes.
  • Support the design and construction of software-in-the-loop and hardware-in-the-loop test infrastructure, including test rigs, emulators, and harnesses.
  • Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines to run automated test suites, providing quick and actionable feedback across the radar product portfolio.
  • Develop tooling for the reliable collection, cataloging, retention, retrieval, and replay of radar test data to ensure reproducibility.
  • Support the repeatable deployment of firmware and software updates to lab hardware, test benches, and fielded units.
  • Build release-assurance workflows that generate necessary artifacts, such as release notes, bills of materials, and traceability records.

What you need

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
  • Candidates must possess at least three years of experience in software quality assurance, software test engineering, or software development infrastructure.
  • Demonstrated experience developing automated tests at the unit, integration, or system level is necessary.
  • Proficiency in Python for test automation and scripting is a mandatory skill.
  • Working proficiency in C++ is required to understand, instrument, and debug production software.
  • Experience utilizing Git and CI/CD tooling is essential for pipeline maintenance.
  • Familiarity with bug-tracking systems such as Jira is required.
  • Strong debugging, analytical, and problem-solving skills, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, are required.

Nice to have

  • Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing environments
