Partnerships Manager, US Public Health
About this role
Bridging the gap between artificial intelligence and the US public health system requires establishing deep engagements that account for legacy systems, government procurement constraints, and workforce realities. The Beneficial Deployments team at Anthropic needs a Partnerships Manager to extend health initiatives into US public health, shaping deployment strategy and managing a focused portfolio of flagship partners across federal, state, and local levels.
Working alongside Applied AI, product, policy, and go-to-market teams, the person in this role will source and onboard new partners, structure customized deployments, and translate field needs into actionable deployment plans. Because this is an emerging area, the position blends hands-on program design with strategic contribution, requiring someone who can operate comfortably when the playbook is still being written.
Ideal candidates bring deep credibility within the US public health ecosystem, technical fluency to serve as an effective thought partner on AI concepts, and extensive experience navigating multi-stakeholder initiatives. A successful hire will drive meaningful impact metrics while building an evidence base through academic and evaluation partnerships to benefit the broader field.
What you will do
- Contribute to the US public health strategy by collaborating with the team lead to identify priority partners and use cases while feeding field insights back into broader health initiatives.
- Manage a portfolio of flagship deployments while coordinating closely with Applied AI, product, policy, and go-to-market teams to ensure successful impact delivery.
- Source, evaluate, and onboard new partners while structuring engagements that navigate government procurement, data governance, and privacy constraints.
- Translate partner requirements into deployment plans that account for legacy infrastructure and public health workforce realities.
- Support the creation of shared resources and digital public goods to help the wider field utilize artificial intelligence responsibly.
- Build a robust evidence base by partnering with academic and evaluation organizations to study effective intervention strategies.
- Represent the organization at public health convenings and engage directly with funders and policymakers.
- Travel to partner sites and headquarters roughly every six weeks, accounting for approximately twenty percent travel.
What you need
- Ten or more years of professional experience working in US public health, health policy, or public sector health innovation.
- Five or more years of experience managing external partnerships, multi-stakeholder initiatives, or programs spanning government and civil society.
- Deep relationships and established credibility within the US public health ecosystem, including familiarity with key players at the CDC, state health departments, major schools of public health, and relevant foundations.
- A working understanding of how federal, state, and local public health agencies operate, fund programs, and adopt new technology.
- Technical fluency to engage credibly on artificial intelligence concepts, understand large language model capabilities and limitations, and partner effectively with technical teams.
- Demonstrated experience building programs or portfolios within early-stage environments where established playbooks do not yet exist.
- High agency, comfort with ambiguity, and a genuine drive to strengthen public health systems and the communities they serve.
- Possession of a Master of Public Health degree or a related credential, alongside a bachelor's degree or equivalent experience.
Nice to have
- Experience inside a federal or state health agency such as the CDC or HHS, or at an organization working closely with them.
