Braintrust is hiring a full-time Open Source Engineer specializing in Go to build the libraries customers rely on for AI observability and LLM evaluation. This fully remote position suits developers passionate about API craftsmanship, developer experience, and reliable library design.

Key Responsibilities

Design and implement resilient, efficient, and idiomatic Go SDKs for Braintrust's platform.
Connect with major AI providers, frameworks, and platforms like OpenAI, Anthropic, and Gemini.
Develop tools and automation to streamline testing, profiling, and release workflows.
Partner with backend, product, and platform teams to deliver a unified developer experience.
Act as a community ambassador by engaging with users, solving problems, and merging fixes.

Requirements

Strong customer obsession and a dedication to solving real-world developer challenges.
Extensive expertise in Go for building fast and reliable libraries.
Proficiency in essential SDK tooling, including testing frameworks, CI/CD pipelines, profilers, and packaging systems.
Deep commitment to developer experience through clean APIs, robust error handling, backward compatibility, and clear documentation.
Experience extending or wrapping existing frameworks to add observability without disrupting workflows.
Background in maintaining or contributing to production-grade open-source libraries.

Nice to Have

Contributions to popular open-source projects.
Experience leading SDK adoption within an organization.
Familiarity with tracing and observability tools like OpenTelemetry.
Prior involvement in the LLM or AI ecosystem.
