Role Overview

Anthropic is hiring an Engineering Manager to direct the team responsible for running anthropic.com and claude.com, which serve as the primary brand touchpoints for Claude and the organization. Operating within the Brand Creative department, this player-coach position requires staying close to the code while setting technical direction, establishing architecture, and building tooling that enables non-engineers to publish efficiently. The professional in this role will partner closely with design, editorial, marketing, and product growth engineering to deliver high-impact web experiences.

Key Responsibilities

Manage, hire, and coach a small, senior team of web engineers while establishing high standards for craft and reliability.
Own the end-to-end technical roadmap for anthropic.com and claude.com, covering CMS architecture, publishing workflows, site performance, SEO health, localization, deploy pipelines, and incident response.
Direct launch engineering for model, product, and campaign releases, delivering high-quality pages under tight schedules.
Develop internal tools, integrations, and Claude-in-the-loop workflows to empower designers, writers, and marketers to publish safely.
Collaborate with design and editorial teams on creative technology, interactive explainers, and data visualizations.
Coordinate web engineering initiatives with Marketing, Product, Comms, and core Engineering groups.

Requirements

Possess 10 or more years of experience in software engineering, with at least 5 years managing engineers specifically within a marketing, brand, or design engineering organization.
End-to-end ownership experience with high-traffic marketing or brand web surfaces, including CMS, frontend, and infrastructure.
Strong frontend technical depth with TypeScript, React, modern CSS, and modern headless CMS platforms.
Demonstrated success building internal tooling that improves speed and safety for non-engineers.
Experience shipping products under launch pressure alongside cross-functional partners.
Minimum education of a Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience in a relevant field of study.
Ability to work in a hybrid capacity, requiring staff to be in the office at least 25% of the time.

Nice to Have

Held a Head of Web Engineering or equivalent platform lead title at a product company.
Experience building localization and multi-region web infrastructure.
Background coming from companies where brand and product web sat closely together, such as developer tools or productivity software.
Prior leadership of design systems or component libraries that successfully shipped to production.

Salary and Benefits
