Role Overview

Key Responsibilities

Manage a specific machine learning assignment from initial problem definition to final experimentation, implementation, and communication of results
Participate in applied artificial intelligence and machine learning research that impacts product experiences
Gather, examine, and process data to build data-driven machine learning models
Write maintainable, clean, and efficient code with proper documentation and testing
Utilize machine learning methods such as natural language processing or graph-based techniques for ranking and modeling tasks across search, ads, and discovery
Analyze scoped technical challenges, suggest approaches, and build solutions with team support
Meet assigned project goals, report progress and findings to colleagues, and ask for guidance when necessary

Requirements

Enrollment in a Master's or PhD program focusing on Computer Science, Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Statistics, Information Sciences, or a related discipline
Familiarity with machine learning domains including ranking, computer vision, natural language processing, content recommendations, embeddings, or information retrieval
Background working with big data technologies such as Hadoop or Spark, along with scalable realtime stream processing systems
Working knowledge of at least one systems programming language like Java, C++, or Python, or a machine learning framework such as PyTorch, TensorFlow, or MLFlow
Background in research and solving analytical problems
Strong communication skills and collaboration abilities for open-ended problem solving
