Role Overview

The IT Systems Engineer, Mobile Client Platform Engineer position at Anthropic is a full-time, remote-friendly role based out of Boston, San Francisco, Seattle, New York City, or Washington, DC. This position is ideal for an experienced infrastructure professional who wants to design and launch a global corporate-issued mobile device program from the ground up.

Key Responsibilities

Design and scale a corporate-issued mobile device program across all regions where Anthropic operates.
Manage global hardware logistics, procurement partners, regional coverage, spares, and refresh cycles.
Integrate mobile configuration into the team's config-as-code pipeline for automated, progressive rollouts.
Build zero-touch enrollment solutions utilizing Apple Business Manager, ADE, and Android equivalents.
Oversee policy, compliance, telemetry, patch states, and device lifecycles for the corporate fleet.
Direct managed app distribution and collaborate with Corporate Security on device trust signals and travel devices.
Establish boundaries and policies regarding how corporate-issued devices and BYOD coexist.

Requirements

Eight or more years of experience managing corporate fleets at a large scale.
Deep expertise in iOS device management, including enrollment flows, ABM, ADE, and certificate lifecycles.
Working knowledge of Android device management in a mixed fleet environment.
Proven background in treating device configuration as code rather than relying strictly on SaaS consoles.
Experience running the infrastructure beneath an MDM, utilizing tools like AWS, Terraform, and self-hosted servers.
Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field of study, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.

Nice to Have

Experience managing ChromeOS devices alongside a mobile fleet.
Multi-region program execution and logistics management.
Background in building automated, progressive rollout systems gated on telemetry.
Proficiency in Swift for creating device tooling.
Experience using LLMs to automate operational work.

Skills and Tools

Python and shell scripting
iOS and Android platform internals
Modern MDM or UEM platforms such as Jamf, Intune, or Workspace ONE
AWS, GCP, and Terraform infrastructure management
GitOps and CI pipelines for configuration management
Endpoint security fundamentals
