Role Overview

Anthropic seeks an IT Support Engineer to join the Security department in San Francisco, Seattle, New York, or Washington, DC. This hybrid position requires staff to be in the office four days a week. The IT Operations team ensures every employee works efficiently without technical friction. Team members handle support requests, scale onboarding processes, automate repetitive tasks using tools like Claude, and elevate the overall employee experience while collaborating closely with IT Engineering and Security.

Key Responsibilities

Triage and resolve technical issues spanning hardware, software, networking, and user accounts via ticketing systems, Slack, and in-person interactions.
Diagnose and troubleshoot endpoints across macOS, ChromeOS, iOS, and Android platforms, alongside core SaaS applications like Google Workspace, Slack, GitHub, and Atlassian.
Manage device enrollment, configuration profiles, policy enforcement, access management, and lifecycle workflows such as onboarding, offboarding, and departmental reorgs.
Handle escalated issues, participate in an after-hours on-call rotation for urgent matters, and deliver hands-on support for conference rooms, printers, and AV systems.
Author internal documentation, maintain knowledge base runbooks, analyze support trends for systemic issues, and write automation scripts using Bash or Python.
Streamline high-volume operations and contribute to device management, identity, and access system enhancements.

Requirements

Minimum of 7 years of hands-on IT support experience, ideally within a high-growth or fast-paced corporate environment.
Demonstrated expertise supporting macOS endpoints along with familiarity supporting ChromeOS, iOS, and Android devices.
Strong background administering Google Workspace and Slack, including workspace management, permissions, and troubleshooting.
Solid understanding of identity and access fundamentals such as SSO, MFA, directory services, and mobile device management (MDM) concepts.
Experience writing basic automation scripts using Bash or Python.
Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, training, and professional experience in a relevant field.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with zero-trust security concepts and endpoint security tooling.
Understanding of networking basics including DNS, DHCP, VPNs, and foundational networking principles.
Prior contributions to IT projects beyond standard support, such as tool rollouts, migrations, or process redesigns.
Experience leveraging AI tools to boost personal or team productivity.
