About this role

Practitioners who thrive in fast-paced construction environments and enjoy hands-on physical work will find a strong fit in this position. The team builds high-performance infrastructure to support next-generation artificial intelligence systems, requiring close collaboration between mechanical, structural, and operations units. This role exists to accelerate the physical buildout of data centers by fabricating critical piping systems and structural supports from initial construction through final turnover.

Day-to-day work centers on fitting and joining heavy industrial materials using precise welding techniques and construction drawings. Candidates who possess a solid grasp of industrial safety protocols, mechanical blue prints, and ASME standards will succeed here. The environment operates with a flat organizational structure, valuing self-starters who communicate clearly and take full ownership of their output.

What you will do

  • Fit, tack, and weld large-bore industrial piping and structural steel according to engineering drawings and ASME Section IX specifications.
  • Prepare joints by cutting, beveling, grinding, and aligning materials while verifying proper fit-up and root openings.
  • Interpret isometric, spool, and structural drawings to meet weld maps, heat numbers, and rod-control requirements.
  • Maintain organized work areas by staging materials, handling scrap segregation, and managing hot-work permits.
  • Adhere strictly to site safety guidelines, including lockout-tagout procedures and personal protective equipment mandates.
  • Assist with punch-list items, weld repairs, and nondestructive examination hold-points until system turnover is complete.

What you need

  • Three or more years of journey-level industrial construction welding experience focused on large piping or structural steel.
  • Completion of a recognized welding apprenticeship program or equivalent military training.
  • Ability to travel extensively to data center construction sites and remain onsite during peak phases.
  • Physical capability to work in industrial settings, climb ladders, lift moderate loads, and stand for full shifts while wearing safety gear.
  • Proficiency in reading isometric, spool, and structural drawings.
  • High school diploma or an equivalency certificate.

Nice to have

  • Hands-on experience with GTAW on stainless steel or SMAW on carbon steel
  • Current ASME Section IX qualification in relevant processes and positions
  • AWS D1.1 structural welding qualification
  • OSHA 10 or equivalent training
  • Prior experience working on data center, industrial, or heavy-civil construction sites
