About this role
The facilities operations team builds, activates, and maintains technically advanced data centers to support the creation of AI systems designed to understand the universe. Daily work involves maintaining and repairing HVAC support equipment, executing ductwork modifications, and handling mechanical and plumbing systems to prevent unplanned service interruptions. The role exists to support infrastructure goals through autonomous problem-solving and hands-on maintenance within a dynamic environment. What you will do
- Collaborate with engineers and managers to maintain systems in peak operating condition and develop preventative maintenance instructions.
- Maintain and repair HVAC support equipment including air handlers, chilled water systems, cooling towers, and pumps.
- Perform ductwork modifications, brazing, soldering, and refrigerant management alongside water piping and insulation repairs.
- Assemble, install, and maintain plumbing and heating systems in compliance with relevant codes and manufacturer specifications.
- Perform hands-on disassembly, troubleshooting, and testing of mechanical equipment and interpret schematics for repairs.
- Execute day-to-day safety inspections, operate heavy lift machinery, and manage electronic work tickets.
- Ensure site compliance with all applicable building codes and regulations.
What you need
- Possession of a high school diploma or equivalent certificate.
- At least three years of professional experience working with HVAC, plumbing, pneumatic, mechanical, or electrical systems.
- Demonstrated capability to read and interpret schematics, blueprints, and technical specifications.
- Proficiency in written and verbal communication alongside the ability to use MS Outlook and Teams.
- Commitment to punctual schedule adherence and the flexibility to adjust for abrupt changes in strategic direction.
Nice to have
- Technical certification, journeyman, or master in HVAC, mechanical, plumbing, or electrical systems
- Knowledge of high-pressure gas, flammable gas, and refrigeration gases
- Professional experience maintaining HEPA filters and standard air handling unit filtration systems
- Ability to troubleshoot mechanical and electrical systems down to the component level
