The team operates Instawork Robotics Labs, deploying skilled workers into real commercial and residential environments to capture high-fidelity task data used by leading robotics labs to train foundation models. This leadership role exists to establish large, distributed operations from scratch, solving ground-level problems and designing systems that support tenfold growth without losing speed or quality.
What you will do
- Build and scale operations from the ground up by defining operating models, establishing metrics, and creating scalable systems.
- Own large, distributed, real-world operations across multiple locations, teams, and workflows.
- Build high-performing teams by hiring exceptional operators, developing leaders, and fostering a culture of accountability.
- Turn operational chaos into structure by identifying bottlenecks and building repeatable processes.
- Drive execution directly on the ground when issues arise rather than relying solely on dashboards.
- Operate at high speed to make rapid decisions amidst shifting priorities and ambiguous conditions.
What you need
- Bring 12 or more years of experience in operations.
- Demonstrate significant experience building and running large, distributed, real-world operations.
- Have a background in e-commerce, logistics, marketplaces, field operations, fast-scaling startups, or hardware-adjacent businesses.
- Show a proven track record of building teams and operating models from scratch.
- Possess strong people leadership experience with the ability to build highly accountable teams.
- Display extremely high ownership, agility, resilience, and strong operational judgment.
