This position suits an experienced technical leader who wants to drive artificial intelligence strategies for identity verification and regulatory compliance systems.

Role Overview

Socure seeks an innovative leader to build and scale the next wave of AI-powered identity and compliance products. This position takes charge of the data science function across core areas such as KYC, International KYC, Global Watchlist, Advanced Prefill, and Identity Graph. The leader will define technical strategies, push the boundaries of graph intelligence and autonomous systems, and translate complex problems into production-grade deployments.

Key Responsibilities

Own the data science vision for Identity & Compliance to improve accuracy, coverage, latency, and customer impact.

Lead and scale a team of data scientists and applied researchers.

Architect and deploy advanced machine learning systems for identity verification, entity resolution, sanctions screening, and compliance risk modeling.

Drive graph-based intelligence developments, including large-scale graph neural networks and link analysis models.

Direct the creation of agent-based AI systems to automate decisioning, triage, investigation workflows, and compliance strategies.

Manage the complete model lifecycle, covering data strategy, feature engineering, development, evaluation, deployment, and monitoring.

Ensure strict adherence to regulatory, governance, and auditability requirements while balancing model performance.

Engage with customers, partners, and internal stakeholders as a trusted technical leader, explaining complex AI systems and performance trade-offs.

Requirements

Advanced degree, such as an MS or PhD, in Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or a related field.

At least 10 years of experience in data science and machine learning with a strong background in delivering production-grade AI systems at scale.

Significant working background in identity verification, KYC/AML, fraud detection, or risk modeling within fintech or adjacent sectors.

Proven management history in building and scaling high-performing data science teams.

Deep expertise in modern machine learning techniques, including deep learning, graph neural networks, entity resolution, and large-scale data systems.

Solid understanding of agentic system design, including orchestration frameworks and autonomous agent deployment.

Practical experience handling heterogeneous data sources like structured data, text, network data, and identity signals.

Hands-on background utilizing Apache Spark and large-scale distributed data systems.

Proficiency in Python alongside modern machine learning frameworks such as PyTorch.

Nice to Have

Familiarity with graph machine learning frameworks.

Prior experience representing organizations through executive briefings, customer-facing discussions, or public speaking engagements.
