Head of Compute Supply Chain
About this role
Anthropic must solve a major compute constraint as industry demand rapidly outpaces available foundry capacity, memory, processors, networking, and power infrastructure. The Head of Compute Supply Chain will own strategic sourcing across semiconductors, IT hardware, data center equipment, and energy equipment to secure the hardware required for safe and beneficial AI systems. Candidates stepping into this role will scale a high-performing organization from zero to hyperscale while managing complex executive supplier relationships.
This position requires someone capable of identifying supply gaps proactively, mitigating single-source and geographic risks, and making difficult allocation trade-offs for leadership. Successful candidates bring extensive background in high-stakes infrastructure sourcing and possess the strategic judgment needed to scale operations alongside rapid company growth.
What you will do
- Manage sourcing strategy across semiconductors, IT hardware, data center equipment, and energy equipment.
- Develop category leads and establish operational processes as the organization scales.
- Secure supply ahead of demand by negotiating capacity reservations, wafer commitments, and long-term agreements.
- Maintain executive relationships with hardware suppliers, power providers, and infrastructure OEMs.
- Evaluate and mitigate supply risks including single-source exposure, geographic vulnerabilities, tariffs, and export controls.
- Identify potential supply gaps early to prevent disruption to business operations.
What you need
- Bring 15 or more years of experience in strategic sourcing or supply chain management within semiconductors, hardware, or datacenter infrastructure.
- Demonstrate a track record of leading an entire function rather than managing just a single category.
- Have built and scaled a sourcing organization through rapid growth, including managing managers who lead teams.
- Successfully negotiated capacity or long-term supply agreements at a multibillion-dollar scale with executive counterparts.
- Possess deep expertise in either semiconductor supply or data center and power infrastructure equipment, paired with the judgment to lead both domains.
- Exhibit strong written communication skills and executive presence to explain allocation trade-offs to leadership.
