A successful leader will partner closely with executive stakeholders, scale a global engineering organization, and drive rigorous evaluation and production-adjacent builds using real data and permissions.

What you will do
- Lead and scale a global organization of engineers by hiring, leveling, and developing reporting managers.
- Partner with business leaders to develop and execute a multi-year roadmap for integrating Claude into daily operations.
- Oversee the Platforms track to ensure the reliability, velocity, and scalability of internal systems.
- Manage the Forward Deployed track to drive user adoption, portfolio prioritization, and smooth handoffs to durable owners.
- Act as the technical executive partner for Legal, Workplace, Communications, and Product Operations leaders.
- Collaborate with Labs and Product teams on dogfooding initiatives to feed load-bearing evaluation signals back into research.
- Represent internal operational practices to enterprise customers alongside the go-to-market team.
- Set high engineering standards regarding production builds, evaluation rigor, and responsible internal deployment.
What you need
- Bring 12 or more years of experience in software engineering alongside at least 6 years of leading engineering teams.
- Demonstrate at least 3 years of experience managing engineering managers, including leading an organization of 20 or more across multiple domains.
- Possess a background in running internal-tools, business-systems, or platform engineering at rapidly scaling companies.
- Utilize strong technical judgment to evaluate agent architectures, design evaluations, and analyze failure modes.
- Communicate complex technical trade-offs effectively to general counsels, workplace heads, and senior engineers to drive decisions.
- Balance high standards for engineering craft with the ability to decline low-leverage work.
Nice to have
- Forward deployed, software engineering, or applied AI leadership experience with external customers
- Product management experience or a track record partnering closely with PMs and analysts
- Experience with corporate systems such as Salesforce, Workday, Google Workspace, and Slack at platform scale
- Experience building career rubrics or leveling frameworks for new engineering roles, or standing up a forward deployed function from zero

What is the salary range for this role?
The annual base salary range for this position is between $485,000 and $625,000 USD.
