Key Responsibilities

Take ownership of complex research problems, guiding them from initial problem formulation through experimentation, validation, and practical application.
Design rigorous evaluations and experiments to verify that research advancements positively impact product and marketplace results.
Create new algorithms, models, datasets, and training methods when existing techniques fail to meet requirements.
Collaborate with engineering colleagues to integrate successful research into dependable product features.
Contribute to shaping the company research agenda, pinpointing high-value questions, and maintaining strict experimental standards.

Requirements

Hold a PhD in artificial intelligence, machine learning, computer science, statistics, or a closely related academic discipline.
Demonstrate a strong history of original machine learning research shown through peer-reviewed publications or equivalent contributions.
Possess deep expertise in areas such as foundation models, multimodal learning, ranking and recommendation, representation learning, reinforcement learning, causal inference, or optimization.
Bring hands-on experience applying research directly to real production systems or commercial products.
Exhibit robust implementation abilities to prototype ideas, manage large datasets with modern machine learning stacks, and partner with engineers.
Maintain deep familiarity with current artificial intelligence research alongside the practical judgment to determine which methods deliver real-world value.
