Role Overview

The Founding Research Engineer, Applied AI advances Agentio's platform by conducting applied artificial intelligence and machine learning research. This position focuses on developing models that improve platform predictions and automate decision-making processes behind creator advertising. The role bridges the gap between research and production, requiring the selected professional to evaluate academic and industry methods, train models using proprietary data, and collaborate with engineering and product teams to ship solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Own research problems from initial problem definition and experimentation through to production deployment.
Evaluate relevant artificial intelligence and machine learning methods against company data, design rigorous experiments, and measure production performance.
Develop new models, algorithms, training approaches, or datasets when standard techniques prove insufficient.
Help establish the company's research agenda and technical standards for applied machine learning.
Translate ambiguous product challenges into clear research questions and build scalable production systems.

Requirements

Demonstrated experience conducting applied machine learning research, evidenced through production machine learning systems, publications, open-source projects, or comparable contributions.
Depth of knowledge in one or more areas including foundation models, multimodal learning, recommendation and ranking, representation learning, reinforcement learning, causal inference, or optimization.
Strong engineering skills with the ability to take machine learning work beyond basic prototypes.
Solid understanding of current artificial intelligence research and the practical judgment to determine utility in real-world applications.

Salary and Benefits

The salary range for this position is $195,000 to $400,000 per year in USD.
