Role Overview

The Forward Deployed Engineer position at RunPod is a remote opportunity based in the APAC region, ideally suited for professionals in locations such as Malaysia, Singapore, or South Korea. This role suits software engineering professionals who possess a strong technical background and a desire to collaborate directly with customers and internal teams to support cloud platform growth.

Key Responsibilities

Join sales meetings with clients to explain specific technologies, provide architectural recommendations, and build proof-of-concept solutions for high-spending potential customers.
Troubleshoot and resolve critical or complex technical issues escalated by clients regarding performance, configuration, functionality, compatibility, or code errors.
Investigate root causes using code analysis, scripting for testing, log analysis, and remote access to deliver effective solutions or workarounds.
Communicate clearly with internal teams including engineering, sales, supply, and product management to ensure satisfaction and relay valuable feedback.
Assist the support team with escalated technical tickets and collaborate with infrastructure teams to resolve GPU server-related issues.
Contribute to product development and testing efforts by channeling user feedback to the engineering division.
Create and maintain technical documentation like knowledge base articles, guides, and FAQs, while also hosting training sessions, demos, and webinars.

Requirements

Hold a bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field, or possess equivalent professional experience.
Bring at least three years of professional experience in software development.
Demonstrate strong problem-solving skills along with the ability to operate effectively in a collaborative setting.
Show familiarity with applied AI use cases such as fine-tuning, inference, LLM-based applications, or agentic systems.
Display excellent communication abilities and a keen attention to detail.
Reside within the APAC region, with an ideal location in Singapore, Malaysia, or South Korea.
Successfully clear a background check.

Nice to Have

Possess strong technical capabilities including proficiency in Python, JavaScript, and Go, alongside hands-on full-stack development experience.
Understand operating systems like Linux or Ubuntu, containerization using Docker, and SQL or NoSQL databases.
Familiarity with data center hardware, network operations, and network protocols such as TCP/IP, HTTP/HTTPS, SSH, and DNS.
Experience in deploying and managing machine learning models and AI services as APIs.
