Role Overview

Anthropic is looking for a finance owner to oversee every site, covering power, leases, and operations. This role acts as a primary financial partner to infrastructure teams, maintaining budget adherence, reducing operating costs, and mitigating infrastructure exposure. The person in this position handles near-term expenditure forecasts, monitors budget-versus-actual project metrics, and collaborates with datacenter operating partners.

Key Responsibilities

Lead financial analysis centered on site optimization initiatives and operating model decisions.
Manage operational finance requests associated with live sites and datacenter partners.
Partner with the Datacenter Expansion lead on deal-to-operations handoffs to operationalize signing budgets at commissioning.

Requirements

Experience in strategic finance, FP&A, private equity, investment banking, consulting, or infrastructure investment, with a preference for datacenter, telco, real estate, energy, or managed-services experience.
History of owning an infrastructure operating P&L and executing cost-out initiatives.
Strong analytical capabilities to build complex financial operating models and distill data into insights.
Confidence acting as the financial representative in partner and vendor rooms alongside technical teams.
Strong execution bias, work ethic, process management, communication skills, and business judgment.
Alignment with the mission of building safe and transformative AI systems.
Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or an equivalent combination of experience and training.
Ability to work under a location-based hybrid policy requiring time in the office at least 25% of the time.

Nice to Have

7+ years of experience in strategic finance, private equity, investment banking, FP&A, consulting, or infrastructure investment.
Direct familiarity with power economics, colocation, datacenter structures, and PPA or energy procurement.
Experience managing financial cadence alongside third-party operators or managed-services providers.
Background in high-performance computing infrastructure, machine learning, or artificial intelligence.
Proficiency in financial modeling languages and tools including Python, SQL, and Excel.
An MBA or advanced degree focused on business, economics, or finance.
