Role Overview

The Engineering Manager for Data Science role at Peec AI offers a unique opportunity to lead the development of cutting-edge analytics that help brands understand their visibility across AI platforms. Key Responsibilities

Build, mentor, and lead a top-tier data science team while clearly communicating technical concepts to stakeholders.
Design, train, deploy, and take personal ownership of critical machine learning systems that power recommendations.
Develop and ship novel algorithms designed to reverse-engineer large language model behavior and AI search.
Oversee the complete machine learning lifecycle from initial research and experimentation to production monitoring.
Architect and evolve scalable data and machine learning systems, including data pipelines and model serving frameworks.
Write and review production-grade code to maintain a high technical standard across the entire organization.

Requirements

Eight or more years of professional experience in data science.
At least three years of experience in a leadership or managerial role, such as Engineering Manager or Tech Lead, at a high-growth startup or top-tier tech company.
Proven history of personally owning and scaling complex machine learning systems from raw research to production.
Exceptional command of Python and applied machine learning alongside strong systems-level instincts.
First-principles understanding of large language models and AI search systems with the ability to evaluate emergent model behavior.
Experience making architectural and modeling choices in cloud-native environments like Google Cloud Platform.

Nice to Have

Widely recognized contributions to open-source projects or foundational machine learning tooling.
Publicly visible side projects or research demonstrating deep technical expertise.
Publications or speaking engagements at top-tier artificial intelligence and machine learning conferences.
Prior founder experience or senior technical leadership within fast-growing startups.
Professional fluency in TypeScript.
