Role Overview

The Editor/Writer is responsible for owning content from the initial idea stage through publication and ongoing optimization. Reporting to the Editorial & Trust Lead, this role involves collaborating closely with medical contributors, SEO partners, and product teams. The position focuses on producing informative, empathetic, and inclusive content across pregnancy, parenting, and related life stages.

Key Responsibilities

Pitch, research, write, edit, publish, and refresh clear and inclusive content across pregnancy and parenting topics.
Translate complex expert guidance and medical information into approachable, accurate resources.
Follow and strengthen editorial standards regarding fact-checking, brand voice, and medical review.
Apply search engine optimization best practices to topic selection, headlines, structure, and content updates.
Partner with medical experts to prepare content for review and accurately incorporate feedback.
Utilize AI-assisted tools responsibly while independently verifying facts, originality, and quality.
Manage digital content within the content management system, maintaining clean metadata and taxonomy.
Monitor performance metrics and audience feedback to recommend content updates and new coverage formats.

Requirements

Minimum of 4 years of professional writing and editing experience in digital media, consumer health, parenting, wellness, lifestyle, or a related field.
A strong professional portfolio demonstrating accurate, engaging, and audience-centered service journalism or educational content.
Working knowledge of search engine optimization, content management systems, analytics, and content optimization techniques.
Excellent research, interviewing, fact-checking, copyediting, and structural-editing capabilities.
Sound judgment when handling sensitive health, family, identity, or life-stage topics.
Comfort collaborating with subject-matter experts and incorporating editorial and medical feedback.
Curiosity about responsible AI-assisted workflows alongside a strong commitment to independent verification and original work.
